BIMA Digital Day success!

Year 10 and 11 students have now completed their digital designs ready to be sent off to BIMA.  There are some fantastic products which many of us have decided we would genuinely buy for real.

In particular, year 11s were amazing considering they also went back to any lessons where there were controlled assessments to complete.

I think there may be some who have businesses underway by the end of the year...

Some font experiments for the company logo

A game design which allows people to live as one of their favourite book or film characters

An app game design which has global appeal to teenagers (our community of people) - it looks fun!

It's The BIMA D-Day again!

Year 10 and 11 media students getting underway with their digital product creations today... some great ideas flowing already!

A HUGE thank you and well done to all students involved!

Media Live trip to Disneyland

Media students at Bishop Fox's have just returned from Disneyland, Paris where they attended an international media conference.

28 students attended the prestigious Media Live conference which is held annually in Disneyland. While there they listened to presentations by Sony TV's Wayne Garvie, Heat Magazine's director, Mark Frith and Scramblr boss, Jane Young. The three speakers delivered presentations about the media industry, their achievements and advice for the future for those interested in pursuing media careers.

They then opened the floor for questions and interaction with the students.

Media teacher, Sally Dennehy, said, "The conference was awesome. It gave our students real world insight into the industry as well as opportunity to speak to genuinely successful professionals. It was inspirational and we would love to go again."

Student, Eddy Buck, enthused, "It was really interesting. Especially Wayne Garvie, who spoke to me in his own time and gave me a contact and some advice for developing my own career".

The students also had access to the park for the two days where they got to explore and enjoy one of the most successful media companies of all time.
